NaNoWriMo: Day 3

I’ve finally worked out how to put a NaNoWriMo word count widget on the sidebar, so you can keep track of my progress by looking somewhere over here ==>

Yesterday, like day one, I got more work done in the middle of the night than during the day, and it seems that this is likely to be the case again tonight. I’ve written almost 5 chapters so far: introducing the protagonist, removing her from her comfort zone, and introducing a couple of characters who are helping her get back on her feet. In a couple more chapters time, I’ll be sweeping the rug I’ve been building for her back out from under her feet again, but in order for the shock to be effective, her false sense of security needs to be built up a little more…

Back to it then. I’m hoping to hit 10,000 words in the next day or so, because I know there’s a couple of days coming up when I’m going to be too busy to write. I’m ahead of the necessary average, and I’m really hoping to keep it that way, because I’m not sure I’d be good at playing catch-up!
